Dr. Emmick received a BS in Biology from Western Kentucky University in 2009 and graduated from the University of Houston, College of Optometry in 2013. Awards and honors while in optometry school include Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society, Nelson Reber Eye Open Award, Varilux Student Grant Award, and 3 Letters of Clinical Excellence at UHCO for outstanding performance in all areas of eye care. After optometry school, Dr. Emmick moved back to her home state of Kentucky and started practicing in Meade County.
Dr. Emmick has extensive training in ocular disease and a strong background in primary care optometry, specialty contact lens fits and pediatric vision. She is trained in the treatment of eye diseases such as glaucoma and retinopathy associated with systemic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes, as well as in the co-management of cataract surgery and other refractive procedures.
Dr. Emmick grew up in Lewisport, Kentucky, Hancock County. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Jordan and their boys. In the summer, you can probably find them outside enjoying the farm or watching a ball game!
She is currently serving on the Kentucky Optometric Association Board of Trustees, serves as the President of the Hancock County Public Library Board, and is the past president of the Hancock County Chamber of Commerce.
